WNew Post: 8/22/2021 Why Bible Study, Sunday School/Children's Church is so important to Children and New Christians Just a few statistics: 81% of Christians believe "God helps those who help themselves" Is in the Bible. It is not. 12% of adults believe Joan of Arc was Noah's wife. 50% of graduating Seniors believe that Sodom and Gomorrah were Husband and Wife in the Bible. A large number of Christians believe that The Sermon on The Mount was delivered by Billy Graham. Now, this may sound funny were not so tragic. In Hosea 4:6 My People are destroyed for lack of knowledge. However, knowledge is worthless without Wisdom, and both come from God. Wisdom gives us the ability to find God's Principles that applies to us how to live our lives. Proverbs 29:18 Where there is no vision, the people perish. The word vision in the Bible means Revelation from God. (Perhaps I am wrong as I was taught from my childhood; it has been my teachings that the whole body of the church takes to heart the Children and new Christians. Be an example to live as Jesus taught, and let our words explain and communicate God has a plan for all of us from our 1st moment of birth. To Illustrate, there is a battle over You, Over All of us, and each of us decides who will win!!!! Jesus of satan. So my question is, what are we to do in fulfilling the task of instilling the knowledge of God's word in our Children and our New Christians. Pastor Mike said it this past Sunday. A Church cannot survive on baby food. We must graduate to meat. My prayer is that I will not be so clumsy when sharing meat, and I Pray That The Willis Cowboy Fellowship Church becomes a Stronghold in our community with Jesus and His teachings Always at the heart of its people. Please do not think me bossy when saying, Start a New Habit……..Reading the Bible Daily. The Bible is the starting place of knowledge and knowing God's will for your life. Each morning as you wake up. Have your Bible by your bed. Start out reading just a verse before you you get out of bed, then start your day. Before you go to bed, read another verse. Without realizing it, those versed will become part of you. Wisdom and knowledge will grow in you. Last of all, Ask Jesus for Discernment. With Discernment, you will know right away what is true and what is deceiving. Be it in people, books, writings, teachings, and conversations. Jesus loves us, and all of the answers we search for are in The Bible, writings, inspired books, concordance's, where ever the Holy Spirit leads you. That is where the tool and weapon of discernment comes in to lead you to what is God inspired and what is just man's meanderings ). More Misdirection's 50% of People calling themselves Christians cannot repeat all Ten Commandments, nor can they name all of the Twelve Disciples; many confuse Job and Jonah. "God helps those who help themselves" Not in the Bible….Aesop's Fables "Hate the Sin Not the Sinner"……Gandhi 1929 "This too shall pass" An English Poem "Spare the rod, spoil the child" This could very well be a paraphrase of Proverbs 13:24, but the statement doesn't really exist in any translation of the Bible. The Bible verse actually reads: "He who spares the rod hates his son, but he who loves him is careful to discipline him." "Money is the root of all evil" This misquote is not too far off from the actual verse, found in 1 Timothy 6:10: "For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs. By joining The Name It Claim It Club to live a wealthy life." "God don't like ugly" While some may want to suggest that this phrase could be a interpretation from the Book of Proverbs to sum up ungodly behavior, they would be wrong. The phrase, as profound as it may be, is not anywhere in Scripture. "Cleanliness is next to godliness" No, Jesus did not say this in the Sermon on the Mount nor in any of his teachings recorded in the Gospels. This Bible misquote might have its root in James 4:8: "Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded." "Money cometh to me now!" This phrase, made popular by preacher Dr. Leroy Thompson and frequently chanted during his "Money Cometh to You" conferences is, not in the Bible. The phrase picked up by Kenneth Copeland, won't instantaneously attract unexpected income. "Blessed and highly favored" Paul, credited with writing many of the New Testament letters, never wrote to the churches in Corinth or Rome declaring Christians to be "blessed and highly favored." As good as the phrase may sound, it's not in the Bible. "All things work together for good" This is another passage in which context is key — what things work together for whose good? Romans 8:28 reads in full: "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose." "God moves in mysterious ways" This might be a universal confession among all Christians, but this phrase is stated nowhere in Scripture. Perhaps the phrase can be linked to Isaiah 55:8: "'For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,' declares the LORD." "Pride comes before the fall" This phrase often attributed to the Bible is almost correct. The actual verse, found in Proverbs 16:18, actually reads: "Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall." In conclusion I believe the battle for our Souls started at the Crucifixion. God is fair in giving mankind free choice. So I ask again. Who will you let win the battle for your Soul? Jesus of the Evil One who said :" I come to kill, steal, and destroy". He's is talking about You. Jesus said: I come to seek and save.rite so
